The Story Behind the Print - Colorado Spring

Spring fights through winter and bursts forth with glorious colors, from the profuse beauty of young flowers and tender green leaves to the icy blue waters of newly-melted streams. It makes a color palette that is alive and vibrant, jewels to adorn its human counterpart. I saw these beautiful shades in the landscape outside Breckenridge, Colorado as nature renewed itself late one March and knew I had to recreate them.

Just as these colors flow together so beautifully, I love to see how everything in the natural world is interlinked and wanted to convey that feeling in “Colorado Spring.” To achieve that, I crafted interlocking areas of the pattern, bringing together leaves, rushing water, and the ducks that have returned for a season of new life.

The result is a delicate print that brings a smile to everyone who sees it.
